Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

HOW THIS BUILDS UPON PAST BELTS

Greater Project
Ownership

Green Belt learners transition from supporting roles to leading their own improvement projects, applying tools more independently and seeing initiatives through from problem identification to solution.

Broader Tool
Application

Expand your toolkit beyond the basics! Our Green Belt training adds new analysis and problem-solving tools to increase your repertoire and add to the projects you can work on.

Increased Decision
Making Power

Independently make decisions within the scope of your projects. While earlier belts focused on observation and support, this level empowers learners to take initiative, justify solutions, and contribute meaningfully to business outcomes.

More Sophisticated
Data Use

Building on the basic metrics from earlier belts, this course introduces intermediate statistical tools and teaches learners to interpret and act on real-world data to guide decisions.

 Increased Complexity
of Application

Projects in this course often involve wider scopes and more variables, requiring stronger planning, time management, and communication skills.

Deeper Cross-Functional Collaboration

Start working across teams and departments, developing the soft skills and strategies needed to collaborate with a broader group of stakeholders.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

KRISTYN PETERSON, PHD, BCBA, LBA, LSSMBB

Kristyn is a BCBA who's obsessed with systems and making a macro-level impact. In her search for tools and approaches to help her meet this goal for organizations, she's developed expertise in OBM, Behavioral Systems Analysis, and Lean Six Sigma.

Kristyn knows that the more tools you have in your toolbox, the better you're able to come up with solutions, and Lean Six Sigma delivers on that.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will this help me pivot to OBM?

YES. This course builds the foundation to speak the language of operations and quality improvement, giving you a leg up in OBM roles. Lean Six Sigma is also a widely recognized certification in the corporate world, so it may also help you land more interviews!

How long is this course?

It's 20 weeks, and will take 55 hours to complete, split across those weeks.

How much time should I expect to spend on this course each week?

We'll meet for 1.5 hours each week. You'll have between 1.5 - 2.5 hours of self-guided work to complete each week on your own.

What should I expect from the self-guided activities?

These are a mix of pre-recorded video tutorials, hands-on assignments, and reviewing use cases. Expect that you'll watch a short, tactical video, look through 3 examples, and then apply it to your selected topic.

What is the capstone?

As we work throughout the course, you'll submit assignments showing you understand how to apply the concepts you've learned to an organizational project of your choice.

Once you reach the end of the course, you'll assemble these things into a Capstone presentation (a Powerpoint), and record yourself discussing your project and submit it to your instructor for review. You will not have to present this to the group or peers.

Is this good for BCBAs who aren’t leaving clinical work?

Absolutely. We use clinic-based examples throughout the course, and you’ll leave with tools to reduce chaos and improve team workflows—regardless of your career path.

Our workbook provides extensions of these to examples outside of clinical work, to facilitate generalization no matter your career plans.

What if I can’t attend the live sessions?

All sessions are recorded and available for replay during the course period.

Is this course accredited?

You’ll earn 10 BACB approved LEARN CEUs and a formal Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification upon passing the exam.

We are currently pursuing accreditation with the Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC).

How much instructor support is there?

A LOT! As long as you submit your assignments on time, you'll get timely, behavior-specific feedback and guidance from your instructor.
