OBM MENTORSHIP FOR BCBAS

Practical guidance for applying OBM in your day-to-day work

If you’re a BCBA who’s interested in Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) but not quite sure how to use it in practice, we totally get it. Lots of BCBAs are curious about OBM and know it matters, but haven’t had the chance to practice it, get feedback, or see how it shows up in real organizational work.

Our OBM mentorship is for those BCBAs who want support turning their interest into usable skills.

Why OBM Feels Hard to Apply in Practice

The confusion isn’t random. It comes from how OBM is usually learned.

OBM is often introduced briefly, sometimes as a single course or a few concepts. What’s usually missing is the chance to practice using it, get feedback, or see how it actually shows up in day-to-day organizational work.

Because of that, it's common to have questions like:

“Where do I even start?”
“What does OBM look like in practice?”
“How do I explain my work without overstating or underselling it?”

OBM isn’t something you memorize and then execute. It’s a way of thinking about systems and performance that develops through use, reflection, and feedback.

That’s what our OBM mentorship is designed to support.

WHAT CHANGES WITH THE RIGHT SUPPORT

“This mentorship helped me add a new lens to my professional work. I learned systematic, data-driven ways to change ineffective processes in my daily work life. Adding this perspective made my work more streamlined, effective, and precise.”

WHAT THIS MENTORSHIP IS NOT

A course with a fixed syllabus or weekly lectures

A certificate program that isn't recognized outside of ABA

A one-size-fits-all version of “general OBM”

It is guided practice, feedback, and support as you learn how to apply OBM to real organizational work.

WHY MORALIS MACHINA

Our mentors have spent years applying behavioral science in organizations where work wasn't labeled, standardized, or clean.

Across our team, we bring over 270+ years of applied OBM experience across healthcare, banking, behavioral health, technology, higher education, nonprofits, service organizations, and more.

Most of that experience didn’t come with the label “OBM,” which is exactly why our mentors understand how these approaches show up in practice. Real organizations involve tradeoffs, resistance, imperfect data, and competing priorities. Our mentors know how to work within those realities.

OBM IS NOT ONE THING

One reason OBM can feel confusing is that it’s often talked about as if it’s a single, unified skill. In practice, that’s not how it works.

Organizational Behavior Management is an umbrella term for several distinct areas of applied work, each focused on different kinds of organizational problems. Teaching it as a general concept without context is one reason it can feel abstract or hard to apply. Our mentorship reflects how this work actually exists in the field.

Rather than teaching a vague version of “OBM,” we help you:
  • Explore the subspecialties you’re most interested in
  • Understand how those areas show up in organizations
  • Learn how to apply these approaches within specific domains
You don’t need to know your focus area going in. Part of mentorship is helping you figure that out.

There are eight OBM subspecialties recognized by the BACB and the OBM Network:

Performance Management | Behavioral Systems Analysis | Health & Well-being | Leadership & Culture | Behavior-Based Safety | Training & Development | Pay for Performance | Consumer Behavior Anaysis

Our mentors each bring depth in different subspecialties, which allows us to support a wide range of interests and goals.

WE SUPPORT ALL OBM SUB-SPECIALTIES:

Performance Management

Behavioral Systems Analysis

Training & Development

Pay for Performance

Health & Well-being

Behavior-Based Safety

Consumer Behavior Analysis

Leadership & Culture

WHAT MENTORSHIP FOCUSES ON

Mentorship is centered on application, not content completion.

Some people come in needing help understanding key concepts in a usable way. Others already understand the ideas but want support applying them confidently, checking their reasoning, or deciding what to focus on next.

Mentorship supports both.

We help BCBAs learn how to:

Understand concepts in context

Apply them to real organizational situations

Sanity-check reasoning and decision making

Explain their approach clearly and confidently

Work through uncertainty and gray areas

WHY OBM MENTORSHIP MATTERS TO US

We know how hard it is to find OBM mentorship as a BCBA. And finding good OBM mentorship, the kind that actually helps you think through real organizational work, is even harder.

We've been there.

When we were building our own OBM paths, BCBAs working in organizational roles weren't widely recognized or supported. Mentorship was limited, feedback was hard to come by, and a lot of learning happened by figuring things out on our own.

How we support.

Our OBM mentorship is built around clear, practical conversations, pinpointed feedback, and real relationships. We work with BCBAs who already know a lot and want a space to slow down their thinking, strengthen their rationale, and get support that respects their experience.

How we show up.

We stay engaged, ask good questions, and work through the messy parts together. We don’t offer a preset path or a credential. We offer mentorship that’s grounded in real work and shaped by the values we bring to everything we do.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU REACH OUT

After you reach out, we’ll talk through your goals, answer your questions, and help you decide whether mentorship is the right fit before you commit.

There’s no obligation and no pressure. The goal is clarity.
