OBM CEUS FOR BCBAS:

WHAT THEY ARE, HOW TO CHOOSE, AND WHERE TO FIND THEM

Your BACB renewal cycle comes around fast. And if you've been in the field long enough, you've probably sat through at least a few CEU courses that had nothing to do with anything you're actually working on. OBM CEUs are a different story, especially if you're starting to think your skills have a bigger application than your current role is using them for.

This page covers what OBM CEUs are, what separates good ones from box-checkers, what topics are available, and what makes Moralis Machina's course library different. If you already know what you're looking for, browse the full catalog here.

QUICK STATS

56 BACB ACE-Approved Courses | 239 CEU hours | Learning, Supervision, & Ethics | from $25 | OP-23-10336

As of july 2026*

WHAT ARE OBM CEUS?

You already know what CEUs are. Every recertification cycle, you need a set number of Learning, Supervision, and Ethics hours approved by the BACB. OBM CEUs check those boxes, but the content is about applying behavioral science in organizations rather than individual clinical work.

That means courses on performance management, behavioral systems analysis, organizational change, leadership, and business skills that directly apply whether you're managing a clinical team, consulting, or actively trying to get out of the clinic and into a different kind of role.

They count toward your renewal exactly like any other ACE-approved CEU, as long as they come from a verified BACB ACE provider. (Moralis Machina's provider number is OP-23-10336, verifiable on the BACB's ACE directory.)

WHY CHOOSE OBM-SPECIFIC CEUS?

Most BCBA CEU catalogs are heavy on autism, clinical practice, and ethics. Which makes sense, that's what about 82% of BCBAs are doing day-to-day. But if you're managing a team, thinking about consulting, exploring a career change, or just want continuing education that actually develops your practice, OBM CEUs give you something you're not going to find in another supervision hours course.

OBM is also one of the fastest-growing areas of applied behavior analysis, and the one most likely to expand your career options. The skills transfer, not just to corporate settings, but back into how you supervise, how you design systems, and how you lead.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN QUALITY OBM CEUS

Not all OBM CEUs are created equal. Here are four things that actually matter:

BACB ACE Approval

This one is non-negotiable. Verify the ACE provider number before purchasing anything. Moralis Machina's ACE provider number is OP-23-10336. It's on every course and verifiable on the BACB's ACE provider directory.

Real Instructor Credentials

Look for instructors who hold active BCBA credentials and have actually done this work, not just studied it. There's a difference between someone who can lecture about OBM and someone who has designed and implemented behavioral interventions in organizations. Check the instructor bio, not just the credential string.

Moralis Machina's courses are taught by Dr. Kristyn Peterson (PhD, BCBA, LBA, LSSMBB, 2x OBM Network Outstanding Applied Intervention Award Recipient) and a roster of collaborating BCBAs and subject-matter experts with applied experience in over 16 industries, including healthcare, tech, banking, education, and consulting.

Content You Can Actually Use

OBM is a practice. The best CEU courses give you tools, templates, and case studies you can apply immediately — not just a conceptual overview you'll forget by the time you need it. If a course's learning outcomes are all "understand" and "describe" with no "apply" or "design," that's a signal.

Aligned to Your Re-cert Cycle

Make sure what you're taking covers the categories you need. Moralis Machina offers Learning, Supervision, and Ethics CEUs, so you can meet your full renewal requirements without shopping multiple providers.

OBM TOPICS AVAILABLE AS CEUS

Moralis Machina offers 56 BACB ACE-approved courses across 13 topic areas and 239 CEU hours total. Here's where those hours across our "learning paths":

THE PART THAT'S UNIQUE TO MORALIS MACHINA:

LSS + OBM + CHANGE MANAGEMENT

Most OBM CEU providers teach behavioral principles applied to organizations. We do that too, but there's a layer here that doesn't exist anywhere else.

Lean Six Sigma

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is a process improvement methodology used across healthcare, manufacturing, finance, and nearly every other industry. It focuses on reducing variability, eliminating waste, and improving quality using data. Sound familiar? It should. The philosophical underpinnings of LSS and OBM overlap significantly! Both are empirical, systems-focused, and data-driven approaches to solving problems. The difference is that LSS gives you the process analysis framework, and OBM gives you the behavioral levers to actually change what happens inside that process.

Dr. Kristyn Peterson holds a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (LSSMBB), the highest LSS credentials available that enables LSS practitioners to provide coaching and mentorship. She's one of the only behavior analysts in the field with both an active BCBA and LSSMBB. That combination is baked into how Moralis Machina approaches BSA, performance improvement, process mapping courses, and more.

For BCBAs who want to work in corporate, consulting, or operational settings, LSS + OBM is one of the most in-demand skill combinations in those spaces, even if hiring managers don't know OBM by name. We're the only OBM CEU provider offering it from someone who's actually credentialed at this level, and who uses it every single day.

Project Management

If you're managing a caseload, you're informally engaging in project management all the time. Juggling "assessment season", coordinating IEP meetings, caregiver support sessions, and ensuring that your reauthroizations get approved on time all look and sound a lot like project management tasks. As a field, project management focuses on delivering initiatives on time, within budget, and within scope. Project management is a skillset that's highly desirable and transfers across many industries, including aviation, government, education, healthcare, technology and more.

While there are many project management certifications available, the Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) is internationally recognized, with the exam being offered in over 14 languages. It's highly professionalized, and is the project management credential most commonly listed as "required" in job descriptions.

Moralis collaborators, like Christopher Gates, M.S., PMP, BCBA, hold both PMP and BCBA certifications and have transitioned successfully to healthcare and edtech settings. From ABA to Anwhere: PMP Prep for BCBAs meets PMI's 35-hour educational training requirement to sit for the PMP exam, and also provides BCBAs with application support to reframe their experiences to meet PMI's standards.

Organizational Change Management (OCM)

Organizational Change Management (OCM) sits at the intersection of process improvement and OBM; particularly leadership & culture. When an organization is going through a large change, such as introducing a new piece of technology, welcoming new leadership, or merging with another organization, OCM practitioners help support the smooth implementation of the change by focus on the people who are impacted. OCM leverages assessments, analysis, strategic thinking, and (in its best forms) data-driven decision making to ensure that employees have clarity, buy-in and motivation to support organizational changes.

Like project management, there are many change management certifications. However, the Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) is the most robust, with its own ethics code and Standard (similar to the BACB 6th Edition TCO) and the most professionalized support from its governing body, the Association for Change Management Professionals (ACMP).

This course is currently under development, but will cover all the educational requirements set forth by the ACMP to qualify to sit for the CCMP exam, and will integrate application support in a similar structure to our PMP prep course.

CEUS ARE ONE TOOL. HERE'S THE FULL TOOLKIT:

CEUs build knowledge. They're the most efficient way to cover a lot of OBM ground, meet your renewal requirements, and explore areas you haven't worked in yet. But if you're actively making a career pivot, or you want feedback on how you're actually applying what you're learning, CEUs alone might not be enough.

Moralis Machina offers more than a course library. Here's how the other services fit, and who they're actually for:

SERVICE

BEST IF YOU...

OBM SUPERVISION

Are pre-certification and want to rack up your BACB hours doing actual OBM work. Our supervisors bring 270+ years of combined OBM experience across 8 subspecialties. 100% of supervisees rated supervision helpful or professionally valuable.

Are already a BCBA but keep asking "what does this actually look like in practice?" Mentorship gives you real feedback on real OBM problems — not a fixed curriculum, but guided application of what you're learning.

RESUME SERVICES

Yes. We cover all three required categories with enough hours for multiple renewal cycles. Check current BACB requirements at bacb.com for the specifics on your certification level.

How does Moralis compare to other OBM CEU providers?

The main differences:

  • Moralis Machina offers 239 CEU hours across 56 courses (as of July 2026); the most extensive library that currenty exists.
  • Our curriculum integrates the skills that hiring managers and leaders are looking for on the job market (we know this from real experience).
  • We've applied OBM in over 16 different industries. That's a deeper scope of competence in OBM than providers who have never stepped foot outside the clinic.
  • We're the only CEU provider who offers a full ecosystem of workforce development for behavior analysts including: mentorship, supervision, resume services, job coaching, certification, and certification prep including application support.
  • Our subscription option is $29/mo. It isn't the cheapest, but it comes with more supports, a larger catalog, a thriving community, and fair wages for collaborators who really know their stuff.

Who teaches the Moralis Machina courses?

Dr. Kristyn Peterson teaches the majority of the catalog. Collaborating instructors, BCBAs and subject-matter experts with applied OBM experience, teach the rest.

Every course page lists the instructor with their credentials and background. We don't use ghost instructors or unlisted faculty.

What type of backgrounds do Moralis Machina instructors have?

Dr. Kristyn Peterson holds a PhD in behavior analysis, focusing her studies and dissertation on OBM. She has founded 2 OBM-focused businesses, including a boutique consulting firm. She also holds a number of other certifications relevant to her consulting work and diverse interests, such as the Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt; the highest process improvement designation under the LSS framework. She's consulted in over 16 different industries.

While many other OBM CEU providers teach content without having stepped into other industries, our instructors are specifically brought on for deep expertise in the topic they are teaching. We ensure every instructor has the academic AND practical knowledge so you can trust their scope of competency.

Do Moralis Machina CEUs count toward my BCBA renewal if I'm not working in a clinical setting?

Yes. BACB ACE-approved CEUs count regardless of your work setting. A large portion of our participants work in OBM consulting, corporate environments, healthcare administration, government, and other non-clinical roles. We're built for those folks, or people who want to move there.

I've taken OBM CEUs before that felt like a lot of theory. How is this different?

Our courses are built around application. Every course has explicit learning outcomes tied to what you'll actually do differently; not just what you'll understand. Every course includes hands-on resources and/or application practice using tools like case studies, templates, workbooks and more, that are designed for immediate use.

Are there OBM CEUs for BCBAs who want to transition out of clinical work?

Most of our catalog was built exactly for that. Intro to OBM Careers, Intro to BSA, Performance Management 101, Organizational Change Management, and Leadership for BCBAs are all designed to help behavior analysts understand how their skills transfer and what they still need to learn to make the shift. Start with the OBM Essentials courses.

Is there a subscription option?

You know it! $29/month gets you on-demand access to the full CEU library.

New courses added regularly, cancel anytime. Certification programs (LSS, PMP, CCMP) not included.

How do I get my CEU certificate after completing a course?

Your certificate is available immediately through your account dashboard the moment you complete the course. It includes your name, the course title, CEU hours, CEU type, completion date, and our ACE provider number (OP-23-10336). Download it directly and submit it immediately to your BACB portal.

It's low effort and immediate so you can focus on the learning, not the administrative stuff.

What is Lean Six Sigma and why does it matter for OBM?

Lean Six Sigma is a data-driven process improvement methodology used across industries (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, finance, consulting, and more). It focuses on eliminating variability and waste in systems, as well as increasing quality.

For BCBAs, it's a natural complement to OBM: LSS tells you where the process is breaking down; OBM tells you how to change the behavior driving it. Dr. Kristyn Peterson holds a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (LSSMBB) and integrates LSS methodology throughout Moralis Machina's systems-level courses.

Moralis Machina is also CSSC-accredited to certify behavior analysts in Lean Six Sigma.

What is the CCMP, and why does it matter for behavior analysts?

The Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) is the gold-standard certification from the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP). It validates expertise in leading organizational change; an area that overlaps heavily with OBM, particularly company culture and BSA work.

Moralis Machina is developing the first CCMP prep course designed specifically for behavior analysts. Join the waitlist to be notified when it launches.

What is the PMP, and why does it matter for behavior analysts?

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the most internationally recognized and sought after project management certification.

Many behavior analysts who are interested in pivoting into OBM love project management because it overlaps so much with the skills they use to manage their caseloads. It includes management, leadership, supervision, and performance management, plus, it's a scope of practice that crosses industries. No more being pigeon-holed; project managers are needed in construction, education, healthcare, government, aviation, technology, SaaS and more.

What if I need more than CEUs?

We have that too. Moralis Machina offers BACB-compliant OBM supervision for pre-certification behavior analysts, mentorship for certified BCBAs who want support applying OBM in practice, resume services for BCBAs translating into non-clinical roles, and job coaching.

What if I'm not yet BCBA certified?

You're still welcome here! Non-certified participants receive a certificate of completion instead of BACB CEUs. Student discounts are available for our CEU courses, too. Reach out to us to get a quote:
