What is Organizational Behavior Management (OBM)?

OBM is the application of behavior analytic principles — the same science behind ABA — to improve performance, culture, and systems within organizations. It draws on experimental and applied behavior analysis to solve real workplace problems like low productivity, high turnover, and poor leadership effectiveness.

Do I need additional credentials to practice OBM as a BCBA? 

No separate credential is required. Your BCBA license reflects competency in behavior analysis broadly, and OBM is a practice application of that science. Building a demonstrable scope of practice through coursework, project experience, and supervision is the recommended path.

What's the difference between OBM and I/O Psychology?

Both address human behavior in organizations, but OBM is grounded in applied behavior analysis and emphasizes observable, measurable behavior change using data-driven methods. I/O Psychology takes a broader psychological approach, often incorporating theory-driven models of motivation, personality, and organizational culture.
